- Description: The plaque designating Foust Building as a historic landmark. Reads, "A Historic Site. Julius I. Foust Building. This building is the only original facility remaining from the State Normal and Industrial School. The campus was opened October 5, 1892 for the higher education of women in North Carolina. The Julius I. Foust Building was officially listed in the National Register of Historic Places on September 11, 1980." The plaque is located adjacent to the main entrance of the building, facing Spring Garden Street.
