Jackson Library provides a 24/5 study space Sunday through Thursday during the Fall and Spring semesters. The gate count value reflects the total number of people who walk through the doors of Jackson Library and the Harold Schiffman Music Library.
Library Materials
The Libraries circulate books, films, CDs, music scores, and technology (laptops, cameras, and more) from service desks in Jackson Library and the Harold Schiffman Music Library. In addition, e-books are circulated online and materials are loaned to other libraries.
In 2017/18, annual usage of the UNCG Libraries' collections exceeded 3 million for the third year in a row and is at a historic high! The Digital Collections contain unique and scholarly items digitized at UNCG, which are made freely available to a global audience. The other categories are paid for with Library Collections funds and are used primarily by UNCG faculty and students.
The University Libraries offer a rapidly growing collection of materials in print, electronic, and other formats.
Reference and Instruction
The University Libraries’ service desks in Jackson and Schiffman provide expert assistance in-person and via chat, text, email, and telephone.
The Libraries' liaisons and archivists offer information literacy sessions to UNCG classes to provide students with the skills and resources they need to conduct effective research. A recent study showed a positive correlation between library instruction and GPA.
Technology
The Libraries’ offer more than 300 public PCs and laptops, plus a variety of other technologies for check-out.
