ROI Internship and Capstone Experiences

The Research, Outreach, and Instruction Department (ROI) at UNCG employs LIS students in a paid position as reference desk assistants, which is a part of the ROI Internship Program. If you have questions, please contact the reference desk manager and intern coordinator, Nick McCollister, at n_mccoll@uncg.edu.

Why apply for an internship?

  • Possibly get experience with digital reference, collection development, and library instruction (depending on your interests and work schedule.)
  • Improve your resume and list of references (students must work at least 2 semesters for a reference).
  • Get paid!

  • Working a minimum of 6 hours a week;
  • Committing to at least two semesters of work;
  • Attending the weekly, hour-long training sessions;
  • An outgoing service attitude;
