The first Curry Building opened and was named for Jabez Lamar Monroe Curry. Curry was the Secretary of the Peabody Educational Fund, which gave financial assistance to the College.
Julius I. Foust arrived to head the Department of Pedagogy and the new Training School (also referred to as the Curry School), both housed in the newly constructed Curry Building.
The cornerstone was laid for the new Students Building, which was partly financed by student contributions. It was built on the former location of the College barn, which had previously housed President McIver's two horses - Clipper and Dan.
The Adelphian and Cornelian Literary Societies published the Decennial, a ten-year retrospective yearbook.
