Building The Bridge As You Walk On It by Robert E. Quinn
This book emphasizes that to drive change through others a leader's first responsibility is engage in deep change themselves. Quinn's eight core practices of reflective action, authentic engagement, appreciative inquiry, grounded vision, adaptive confidence, detached interdependence, responsible freedom, and tough love interact in a way that allows the leader to change with integrity. The book's theme of integrity, personal accountability and other orientation appeals to my sensibilities around the composition of sustainable change leadership.
