The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari by Robin Sharma
The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari is a story which stresses an approach to living a life of balance, strength, and purpose. Told through the progonist, Julian Mantle, a stressed out, high strung lawyer, Sharma shares a tale in which Julian suffers an extistential crisis (heart attack) and is forced to re-think his life and ways. Julian sets out on a journey of personal discovery, in which he leaves his material possessions behind and travels around the world to gain a new perspetive on good living from the "Sages of Sivana", an enlightened group of spiritually wise people. Julian learns the seven virtues of a good life, and returns to his home town to share his newfound wisdom with his friend, John. I choose this book because it is motivational, inspiritational and uplifting. It stresses the importance of living in the "now", selflessness in serving others, and savoring the journey of life.
