Destructive Emotions: A Scientific Dialogue with the Dalai Lama by Daniel Goleman, Ph.D., The Dalai Lama
For many years I have been interested in the study of the brain, how it influences behavior, and, in turn, how our behavior may influence the structure and function of the brain. Daniel Goleman's book, Destructive Emotions: A Scientific Dialogue with the Dalai Lama, is an account of numerous dialogues between Western neuroscientists and Eastern Buddhists. The coming together of these two apparently diverse groups has created a unique interdisciplinary collaboration that continues to enhance our knowledge of the human mind. There are many benefits to collaborative, interdisciplinary brain and behavior research and far too few interdisciplinary projects. The projects described in this book represent interdisciplinary research at its best and have contributed to our knowledge of the brain and how it functions.
