NOVA: Hunting the Hidden Dimension(DVD)
I remember reading a now out of print book called "Teaching Mathematics: Toward a Sound Alternative" by Dr. Brent Davis where he discussed mathematics as an integrated and relational discipline. In the book he discussed fractals, naturally occurring patterns in nature, and I was intrigued by how he connected mathematics to the real world. This documentary highlights the importance of mathematics from the perspective of nature, focusing on fractals and their impact on technology and life in general. For me, mathematics is an activity of constructing patterns and relationships and this documentary highlights my belief system.
