Charley Harper: An Illustrated Life, by Todd Oldham, Illustrated by Charley Harper

Few things make me happier than Charley Harper's art. His streamlined, brightly colored imagery, which Harper described as "minimal realism", resonates with both my love of mid-twentieth century design, as well as for birds and other creatures. Designer Todd Oldham became enchanted by Harper's work and published this book of reproductions of Harper's illustrations and prints. Whenever I see Harper's extraordinary representations, I’m reminded of the importance of turning away from the page and paying closer attention to the natural world.
