Nanoscience and Nanoengineering: Advances and Applications, Edited by A.D.Kelkar, D.J.C.Herr, J.G.Ryan
My professional career has been devoted to the application of methods of theoretical, mathematical and computational physics to biomedical engineering and cardiovascular research. This work by nature is interdisciplinary and links together new ideas and methods in science, engineering and medicine. My current projects at the Joint School of Nanoscience and Nanoengineering (JSNN) are fully interdisciplinary and include research on miniaturized electrophysiological sensors and neural interfaces. Receiving tenure at JSNN will boost this work and should eventually result in the clinical implementation of the methods which I have developed so far using smaller, smarter and less costly nanodevices. A recent book published in 2014 by CRC Press “Nanoscience and Nanoengineering: Advances and applications” is a joint effort of my JSNN colleagues who work together in different fields of modern science and engineering. I chose this book because it embodies the spirit of interdisciplinary research collaboration.
