The Man Who Touched His Own Heart
by Rob R. Dunn
After spending most of my nursing career intrigued by the heart, this book spoke to me in several ways. The author, a Professor of Applied Ecology at NC State University, combines stories of science, history, and biology to illustrate how important the human heart is. In fact, as pointed out by the author, our heart is capable of providing over 2 billion beats in a life time. However, despite our increasing knowledge of this amazing organ, much about the heart remains a mystery.
