The Last Cattle Drive
by Robert Day
Selecting a special book for this occasion was painful. Displaying something I read to help earn promotion would only clue you in on how dull my reading habits are. Something suiting the current Zeitgeist from Orwell or Kafka would seem cliché and acrimonious. So I picked a funny little novel about the homeland, Kansas. It’s about old codger out of place in the modern world. Tomato beer. Flat affect, but lots of heart. An impossible journey undertaken to save a few bucks. The G will feel even more like home now that the library has a copy.
