Music in the Human Experience: An Introduction to Music Psychology
by Donald A. Hodges

When I was in graduate school at Florida State University, for our music perception and cognition class we were asked to select and read a music psychology book. I chose to read Don Hodges' Handbook of Music Psychology, which was later revised and became Music in the Human Experience. This book opened my mind to the incredible and inspiring world of music and psychology. Donald Hodges later became my colleague and friend here at UNCG where he led the Music Research Institute.
